A TRIBUTE TO MIMIS PLESSAS

The musical legacy of Mimis Plessas, our great composer who left his mark on modern Greek history with countless songs, comes to life on the stage of the Pallas Theater in a unique tribute concert.
On Monday, December 8, the Mimis Plessas Orchestra, founded under the personal supervision of the composer, presents a program full of melodies loved by all generations. Two great performers, Kostas Makedonas and Peggy Zina, bring his immortal works to life.
Mimis Plessas was a pioneer of the Greek music scene, with a career that began with international recognition as a piano soloist in Minnesota in 1951 and continued with hundreds of songs, collaborations with leading performers, music for cinema and theater, and a significant contribution to jazz in Greece. His works, such as O Dromos (The Road) with lyrics by Lefteris Papadopoulos, have made history in discography.
The concert will feature songs that have marked the Greek soul, through the interpretations and dynamic presence of an orchestra made up of leading musicians.
The evening will be accompanied by archival audiovisual material, moments from cinema, and unpublished photographs, with artistic supervision by Loukila Karrer and visual curation by Eleana Plessa.
