On the occasion of the screening of the international production “Maria Callas – Monica Bellucci: A Meeting,” the dazzling star returns to our country, invited by Giorgos Lykardopoulos’ cultural organization “Lykovos.”
The hybrid documentary by Yannis Dimolitsas and Tom Wolf was created from the chronicle of the world tour of the play Maria Callas – Letters and Memoirs, which lasted from November 2019 to January 2023. We observe and compare two different eras, the present and the one in which Callas reached the height of her glory, while at the same time participating in and witnessing a meaningful dialogue between the great contemporary Italian actress and the voice that marked the 20th century: two women who, despite their different backgrounds, meet later in life thanks to their love of art.
