March 20, 2018 @ 9:00 pm

Film: La promesse de l’aube
The Francophone Film Festival of Greece celebrates its 19th anniversary this year, with events from March 20 to 28 in Athens and from March 29 to April 4 in Thessaloniki. The festival promises to fill our nights with French-language films, new talent, masterclasses and collaborations.
This year’s programme was presented at a press conference at the French Institute of Athens. Films from France, Belgium, Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Morocco and Switzerland will be screened. The Premiers Plans festival has a White Card this year and will select films from its last edition.
The well-known sections of the Festival, such as the Competition, Panorama, Special Screenings, White Card and Tribute, return. This year’s Tribute focuses on “fashion and cinema”, with classic films and a masterclass on fashion, cinema and Dior.
In collaboration with Gros Plan, the Festival has created a questionnaire to get to know viewers and their views on the films better. The questionnaire will be distributed before the Panorama films.
On Saturday 24 March, in collaboration with Animasyros, the “Kaleidoscope of animation films” will take place, with animation film screenings and a music stage in the afternoon, followed by a DJ party in the evening.
In addition, in cooperation with the ESPEK, meetings will be organised with film professionals on conservation issues, legislation and practices concerning film archives.
As every year, the Jury Prize and the Fischer Audience Award will be presented at the end of the event. The jury this year consists of Daphne Patakias, Petros Sevastikoglou, Alexis Stamatis, Efi Falida and Monica Christodoulou.
The Festival trailer was created by the director Nikos Pastras. The Festival will open on Tuesday 20 March at the Pallas Theater with the film ” La promesse de l’aube “, in the presence of director Eric Barbier and the leading actors Pierre Nini and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
