SUMMARY:50 years of Mummenschanz: The award-winning pantomime troupe at the Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2024\nStart: 22 March 2024\nEnd: 23 March 2024\nPerfomance title: 50 years of Mummenschanz\n\n\nThe award-winning mime troupe from Switzerland\, with its charismatic artists\, distinctive choreography\, wonderful masks and imaginative constructions\, comes for the first time to Athens to present the most delightful moments of its 50-year history. \nA playful\, interactive performance and a poetic experience for all ages. \n\n\n\nOn Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March\, the Greek audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the most famous mime and pantomime theatre in the world\, coming for the first time to Athens\, at Pallas Theater. \nThe enchanting world of silence created by MUMMENSCHANZ is not easy to fit into just one category of spectacle. \nThe company describes itself as “theatre with masks” or “mime theatre” (their name refers to the old English word mummer\, meaning mimic). Since their founding in Paris in 1972\, MUMMENSCHANZ has grown into a global proposition for contemporary theatre\, transcending cultural and linguistic boundaries. \n\n\n\nTheir three founders\, Floriana Frassetto\, Andres Bossard and Bernie Schürch\, conquered the world without saying a word\, using only a purely visual language. Masks on a black background. \nTo commemorate the anniversary of their foundation\, Floriana Frassetto – the poet of silence – has devised a production that will take the audience on a 50-year journey through the fascinating world of MUMMENSCHANZ. \nIt takes us back to the most popular\, successful productions of the past years\, with legendary characters such as clay masks and toilet paper faces\, the sensitive\, airy Giants\, the Pipe creature and many other strange objects and shapes\, brought to life by the five performers of the company. \nThe Greek audience has the opportunity to experience this fantastic journey into the world of MUMMENSCHANZ for two unique performances\, on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 March at the Pallas Theater. \nAn imaginative\, poetic journey that needs no subtitles\, a lively\, humorous\, affectionate and imaginative extravaganza in the magical world of silence\, which no one should miss! \nSometimes even silence becomes deafeningly loud! \n\n\nArtistic Direction: Floriana Frassetto\nLighting: Jan Maria Lukas\nProduction: Marc Reinhardt\nPerformers: Sarah Lerch\, Tess Burla\, Kevin Blaser\, Floriana Frassetto\, Manuel Schunter

SUMMARY:The Sixth Floor at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2024\nStart: 23 February 2024\nEnd: 03 March 2024\nNumber of performances: 8Thirty-two years after its now legendary presentation at the Peroket Theater(1991-92)\, George Valaris directs and revives the musical performance “The Sixth Floor” with a staff of great artists. Based on the comedy that characterizes Anna Panagiotopoulou’s successful adaptation of Alfred Alfred Gehri popular play – which has been translated and performed with great success almost all over the world from 1938 to the present day – Stamatis Kraounakis and Lina Nikolakopoulou have created perhaps the most famous and beloved songs ever heard in the last decades in a theatrical performance\, (“What time is it\, what day is it and what year is it”\, “The Song of the Gossip Girl”\, “The Song of Jealousy”\, “The Handrail”\, etc.).\n\n\nThe premise of the work is timeless and particularly relevant today. In the 1930s\, the tenants of an apartment building in Paris are living in a state of crisis. The daily life of the residents of the sixth floor unfolds through the loves\, conflicts\, endless fights\, constant incidents and the dreams that each one makes for his life. \nDreams big and small\, dreams that give every person the strength to endure the difficulties of everyday life. Only in the course of the play\, the heroes will realize that above and beyond dreams – which unfortunately so rarely come true – there is love\, companionship\, solidarity\, the feeling that we remain united in the face of every difficulty. And it is only through this sense that we can emerge true winners in the game of life. \n\n\nAuthor: Alfred Gehri\nAdapted by: Anna Panagiotopoulou – (Platon Mavromoustakos)\n(George Valaris and the company)\nDirection: George Valaris\nMusic: Stamatis Kraounakis\nLyrics: Lina Nikolakopoulou\nSet design: Manolis Pantelidakis\nCostumes: Haris Souliotis\nLighting design: Lefteris Pavlopoulos\nChoreography: Markos Yakoumoglou\nMusic orchestration: Dimitris Andreadis\nVideo: Ted Zographos\nProduction Management: Katerina Berdeka\nProduction Assistant: George Geranakis\nProduction Assistant : Konstantinos Fringas\nAssistant second director: Fay Soukou\nAssistant set designer: Elina Drakou\nPromo photographer: George Kalfamanolis\nPerformance Photographer: Elina Younani\nPerformance Trailer: Fotis FotopoulosStarring (in order of appearance):Fotografia Fontaine (director of the production)\, Iro Mane (Germain Lescallier)\, Kostas Makedonas (Max Lescallier)\, Eleni Kastani (Madame Marais)\, Danae Lukakis (Jean)\, Marialena Rozaki (Edwiz Osceaux)\, Arman Edouard Menettian (Jojo)\, Yannis Stefopoulos (Osceau)\, Vassilis Athanasopoulos (Zonval)\, Stavros Parharidis (Doctor)\, Evangelia Moumouri (Lady in Grey)  \nMirka Papakonstantinou\nis “The Spirit of the Sixth Floor” \nParticipating musicians: \nPiano: Dimitris Kiklis\nDimitrios Kilis: Apostolis Paraskevaidis\nAccordion: Artemis Vavatsika \nProduction: Broadwayshow Productions

DESCRIPTION:Season: 2023\nStart: 18 March 2023\nEnd: 19 March 2023 \n  \nA production of Olympia\, Municipal Music Theatre “Maria Callas” at the Pallas Theater \nThe masterpiece of the opera innovator\, Christoph Willibald Gluck\, “Iphigenia in Tauris” is presented at the Pallas Theater on 18 and 19 March by the Municipality of Athens\, organized by the Organization for Culture\, Sports and Youth of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA)\, with an internationally renowned production that was originally scheduled at the Olympia\, Municipal Music Theatre “Maria Callas”\, as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the diva of lyrical singing. \n  \nAn exceptional cast of distinguished lyric artists\, the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT and the Choir of the Municipality of Athens will present the opera that Maria Callas sealed with her performance\, under the musical direction of the internationally renowned conductor George Petrou and the subversive direction of Thanos Papakonstantinou. With sets and costumes by Niki Psychogiou\, the ancient myth will be brought to life on the stage of the Pallas Theater through Gluck’s intensely dramatic music\, which eloquently captures the particular psyche of the characters in the drama. The students of the State School of Orchestral Art will also participate in the performance. \nAn exotic location\, a lost sister\, a mad brother\, human sacrifice\, agony\, danger\, divine intervention: these characteristics certainly make for a fascinating tragedy. C.W. Gluck’s opera Iphigenia in Taurus\, based on Euripides’ tragedy of the same name\, tells the intersection and conclusion of the myths of Iphigenia and Orestes. \n  \nMusic direction: George Petrou\nDirector: Thanos Papakonstantinou\nSets / Costumes: Niki Psichogiou\nMotion Design: Nandi Gogoulou\nLighting design: Christina Thanasoula\nChoir teacher: Stavros Beris\nAssistant conductor: Nikos Laaris\nAssistant Director: Konstantina Psoma\nMusic preparation: Dimitris Giakas\nAssistant set designer-costume designer: Sofia Babanioti \nIphigenia: Soula Parasidi\nOrestes: Philippe-Nicolas Martin\nPylades: Juan Francisco Gatell\nThoas: Yiannis Selitsaniotis\nArtemis / First Priestess: Maria Novella Malfatti\nA Greek / Second Priestess: Chrysanthi Spitadi\nA Scythian / Minister: Florent Leroux-Roche \n  \nWith the participation of students of the State School of Orchestral Art. \nThe performance uses stroboscopic lighting.

SUMMARY:La Folle de Chaillot
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2022-2023\nStart: 17 December 2022\nEnd: 5 March 2023\n \n\nThe emblematic play by Jean Girontoux\, one of the greatest French dramatists of the interwar period\, at the Pallas Theater\, directed by Peter Zoulias. \nThe leading role of Chayot’s “Madwoman” –  is played by Elisabeth Konstantinidou\, and she embodies the struggle of an eccentric Parisian woman against every form of power that affects our lives. She is joined by Nikos Moutsinas as the junkman\, a demonic street theatre performer\, and Athina Oikonomakou\, as the sweet and sensitive Irma\, a Parisian prostitute with a pure soul\, like a little child. The show stars Yannis Siamsiaris\, Kostas Kazakas\, Christina Tsafou\, Stella Gika\, Stathis Mantzoros\, Georgia Kallergi\, Prodromos Tosunidis\, Efthimis Georgopoulos\, Makis Patelis and six other actors. \n\n\n\nAurelie\, the genius “madwoman” from the Chayot region in the French Trocadero\, is an unpretentious\, idealistic woman who sees the world as beautiful and happy. When she learns of the plan of a group of corrupt corporate executives and cynical businessmen who plan to dig up Paris to find the oil they believe lies beneath its streets\, she mobilizes all her friends\, who\, like her\, resist the power of money\, and sets a trap for her enemies\, into which she leads them and destroys them as they are blinded by their greed. \n“What would you rather have in your court:\nan almond tree or an oil well?” \nNext to Peter Zoulias\, a great group of performers puts their artistic stamp on it. Evanthia Reboutsika signs the original musical composition and the songs. The spectacular sets were designed by Maria Philippou\, the impressive costumes by Denis Vachlioti\, the atmospheric lighting by Melina Masha and the kinesthetic guidance by Kiki Baka. \n\n\nThe inspiring – and more relevant than ever – text of “La Folle de Chaillot” denounces adventurism and paves the way for humanity to prevail over opportunistic profit\, highlighting the eternal struggle between the dreamers of life and power… the eternal battle between good and evil.\n\nAdaptation – Direction: Peter Zoulias\nSets: Maria Filippou\nCostumes: Deni Vahlioti\nMusic: Evanthia Reboutsika\nLighting: Melina Mascha\nMovement: Kiki Baka\nAssistant Director: Marianna Tountasaki\nPhotos: Elina Giounanli\nTrailer: Konstantinos Economou – GUSECO\nMusic Instruction: Akis Dixiimos\nGraphic design: Indigo Creative  \nIn the role of “Madwoman”\, Elizabeth Konstantinidou \n\n\nNikos Moutsinas is a junkie\nIrma: Athina Oikonomakou  \nStarring:\nYiannis Siamsiaris\, Kostas Kazakas\, Christina Tsafou\, Stella Gika\, Stathis Mantzoros\,\nGeorgia Kallergi\, Prodromos Tosounidis\, Efthimis Georgopoulos\, Makis Patelis \nWith them (alphabetically):\nFani Georgakopoulou\, Vasilis Lemperos\,\nChristina Petroleka\, George Tsourounakis\, Michalis Filippou \nMaria Reboutsika sings live

SUMMARY:The Court of Miracles - The Musical at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2022\nStart: 9 November 2022\nEnd: 20 November 2022\n\n\n“The Court of Miracles – The Musical” at Pallas Theater\nOn the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Iakovos Kampanellis\, the cultural organization Lycophos in collaboration with the Theatrical Scenes presents a great theatrical project\, from 9 to 20 November.  \nThe “Karolos Koun” award-winning director\, Christos Sugaris\, and the internationally acclaimed soloist and composer Stefanos Korcolis\, sign a special version of the most emblematic work of modern Greek theatre\, the “Court of Miracles”\, in the form of a musical. \nWith them\, a unique staff of collaborators and stars. \n\n\n\nGerasimos Evaggelatos on the lyrics\, Marissa Triantafyllidou on the dramaturgy and Fokas Evaggelinos on the choreography. The sets and costumes are designed by Eleni Manolopoulou\, while the lighting is by Alekos Anastasiou. Starring Giorgos Gallos\, Alexandros Bourdoumis\, Katerina Papoutsaki\, Roula Pateraki\, Manos Vakousis\, Cora Karvouni\, Maria Diakopanagiotou and the international mezzo-soprano Irini Karagianni. Together with Filareti Komninu and Dimitris Pyatas\, in an excellent 17-member company. Anastasios Simeonidis conducts a ten-piece orchestra. \nThe Court of Miracles by Iakovos Kampanelis is a hymn to the perpetual effort of the Greek to overcome narrow geographical boundaries\, to shake off perpetual poverty\, to face the lack of stability and to put down roots in a place where he can prosper. The high ethos of the play’s characters and their passions is based on the lack of stability and certainty that characterizes our lives\, which begins with our erratic climate\, our ‘strategic’ geographical location\, the poverty of our land and ends in our private economy. Everything in Greece goes up and down very easily\, rolls over\, goes away – and our most frequent longing is to settle down somewhere\, to make sure that from now on ‘everything will be fine’. \n\n\nDirected by: Christos Sougaris\nOriginal Music – Orchestration: Stefanos Korkolis\nLyrics: Gerasimos Evangeliatos\nDramaturgy: Marissa Triantafyllidou\nChoreography: Fokas Evangelinos\nSets-Costumes: Eleni Manolopoulou\nLighting Design: Alekos Anastasiou\nMusic Teaching – Editing of musical material: Savvas Rakintzakis\nHair design: Daniel Athanasiou\nSound design-sound engineering: Andreas Georgallis\nAssistant director: Nikolas Ioakeimidis\nAssistant stage designer-costume designer: Emily Koukoutsakis\nSecond Assistant Director: Vasiliki Athanasopoulou\n2nd assistant stage designer-costume designer: Elina Alupoyianni\nPromo photos: Panos Giannakopoulos\nPerformance photos: Michalis Goumas\nPerformance Video: Konstantinos Antonopoulos\nPromo video: Fotis Fotopoulos\nPoster design: Dionysis Andrianopoulos\nGraphic materials: Konstantinos Georgantas\nProduction Director: Konstantina Angeletou\nProduction Organization: Maria Kakaroglou\n\nDistribution\nGeorge Gallos (Stelios)\nAlexandros Bourdoumis (Bambis)\nKaterina Papoutsaki (Olga)\nRoula Pateraki (Anneto)\nManos Vakousis (Jordan)\nCora Karvounis (Voula)\nIrini Karayanni (Asta)\nMaria Diakopanagiotou (Dora)\nGeorge Tsiantoulas (Stratos)\nMariza Tsari (Maria)\nElektra Sarri (Matina)\nGeorge Davos (Rafaela)\nDinos Gelameris (Yiannis)\nVangelis Vogiatzis (Male)\nZacharias Wella (Male)\nYannis Sofologis (Male)\n\nIn the role of Kaitis\, Filareti Komninou\nDimitris Piatas in the role of Laskos  \nConducted by Anastasios Symeonidis \n\n\nMusicians\nRoll Giamopoulou drums / Vassilis Defigos saxophone-flute-clarinet / Dimitris Kouzis violin / Viktor Kouloubis electric and acoustic bass / Marilisa Papadouri cello / Angeliki Poulimenou Horn / Kostas Pyrenis guitar / Savvas Rakintzakis keyboards / Christos Spiliopoulos trombone

SUMMARY:Noises off
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2022\nStart: 19 March 2022\nEnd: 30 October 2022\n\n\nMichael Frayn’s iconic\, famous comedy “Noises Off” comes to Pallas Theatre\, directed by Konstantinos Markoulakis\, with a star-studded cast on stage! \nKonstantinos Markoulakis directs for the first time a pure comedy\, immediately after the success of “The Third Wedding” – the great production that managed to triumph even in the pandemic era – again at Pallas Theatre. This time\, he puts his stamp on this frenetic comedy\, not only leading an all-star company\, but also taking to the stage himself. Joining him in the organized chaos of this masterfully written comic farce are Smaragda Karidi\, Odysseus Papaspiliopoulos\, Stefania Goulioti\, George Chrysostomou and Lena Papaligura. The team is completed by George Psychogios\, Daphne David and George Zygouris.\n“Save” has been presented several times in the past in Greece. The first time it was directed by Andreas Voutsinas\, at the “Minoa” theatre in 1983. In 1995 it was presented in the production of Stamatis Fassoulis at the “Athinaion” theatre. \nThe original play “Noises Off” premiered in 1982 in London. The spine-tingling comedy was written several years earlier\, when the award-winning English playwright Michael Frayn (Olivier Awards 1976 & 1982\, Tony Award 2000\, EMMY Award 1990\, etc.)\, inspired “Noises Off” in 1970\, while watching from the box seats of a London theatre a theatrical farce written for comedian Lynn Redgrave. Later\, he said: “it was funnier to watch it from the quintet than from the theatre square\, and I thought one day I should write a theatre comedy about all that goes on behind the scenes.” \nKonstantinos Markoulakis\, Smaragda Karidi\, Odysseas Papaspiliopoulos\, Stefania Goulioti\, Giorgos Chrysostomou and Lena Papaligoura in a hilarious comedy that becomes “the save”. \n\n\nDirection: Konstantinos Markoulakis\nStages: Paris Mexis\nMusic: Minos Matsas\nLighting: Dimitris Koutas\nCostumes: Royal Wire\nMovement: Kiki Baka\nAssistant Director: Christina Matthaiou\nStage Designer Assistants:\nAlegia Papageorgiou\, Evi Andrianou\nCostume designer assistant: Katerina Arianoutsou

SUMMARY:The Third Wreath at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2020-2022\nStart: 16 October 2020\nEnd: 9 January 2022 \nKostas Tachtis’ masterpiece “The Third Wreath” is revived at the Pallas Theater with the signature of Konstantinos Markoulakis\, with the audience enjoying the iconic roles of Hecave and Nina played by Maria Kavoyannis and Maria Kitsou. \nA troupe of talented actors and actresses enters the vortex of Minos Matsas’ new\, original music\, bringing to the stage the sounds and images of an entire era. \nThis is a major production of the Theatrikes Skines\, which will be presented in a new adaptation\, highlighting the poetry and narrative qualities of the novel\, with absolute respect to the author and his intention to present a story that opens and closes like a cycle\, just like life itself. \nA testimony of memory where\, through the personal stories of the heroes\, the entire modern history of Greece is highlighted in a style that\, although it does not aim to teach\, captures with a rare humour all that one deserves to fight for in this life. \nA novel that has been a milestone for Kostas Tsakhtsis and one of the most beloved by the Greek public throughout time. \nIn fact\, in the past it was made into a serial by Yannis Dalianidis\, winning the TV audience\, while it was also the material for many successful performances directed by Stamatis Fassoulis and Thanasis Papageorgiou. \nBut what is it\, what attracts the viewer to “Third Wreath”? What makes it timeless and always relevant? It is the ruthless affirmation of life. This realism that resists and remains unaffected by any form of acting. It is the very characters of this drama. Characters of steel\, people of another era who ache\, suffer\, cry bitterly\, kneel\, bleed but never give up hope\, never lose faith in life and in what each tomorrow holds. They courageously stand up to every difficulty\, laugh out loud\, showing the way. \nThrough the story of two women\, who pull the strings of the men’s fate\, a picture of post-war society emerges with flashbacks to the Balkan era\, Asia Minor\, with direct references to the Metaxas era\, the Occupation and with emphasis on the civil war and post-civil war landscape. \nHecave and Nina love each other\, cool off\, talk incessantly and are only silent in the face of what transcends them\, always carrying the beautiful and strange burden of the homeland that gave birth to them\, as “mythologized” by Elytis: “Beautiful and strange homeland / Like the one I never saw / Casting to catch fish catching feathered ones / Setting up on earth a boat garden in the waters / Crying kissing the soil alienated / Staying on the five roads manly […]” \nA genuine Roman mosaic of emotions\, rich in Greekness. The audience will appreciate the adventures of Hecave and Nina\, but also the collective adventure of the Roman\, projected in the background\, as “The Third Wreath” will reveal where Hecave and Nina began\, showing them what our life is today and why it is this and no other… \nCredits: \nDirected by Konstantinos Markoulakis\nAdaptation: Konstantinos Markoulakis\, Nikos Manousakis\nSets: Parris Mexis\nMusic: Minos Matsas\nLighting: Alekos Yannaros\nCostumes: Claire Bracewell\nMotion: Kiki Baka\nAssistant Director: Christina Matthaiou\nPhotos: Elina Younani\nProduction: Theatrikes Skines \nStars \nKostas Andalopoulos\, Irini Valatsou\, Dani Giannakopoulou\, Danae Epithymiadi\, Maria Kavogianni\, Dimitris Karaviotis\, Syremo Kecke\, Maria Kitsou\, Tasos Lekkas\, Ornella Louti\, George Makris\, Dimitris Mandrinos\, Stathis Mantzoros\, Kalliroi Miriangou\, George Nousis\, Eleftheria Pagalou\, Alexandra Pantelaki\, Elisa Skolidi\, Menela Hazarakis\, George Psychogios

SUMMARY:Moby Dick at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2020\nStart: 28 February 2020\n\nEnd: 11 March 2020 \nOnassis Culture in collaboration with Theatrical Scenes present at Pallas Theater from 28 February 2020 one of the greatest works of world literature of all time\, which is transformed into a musical (libretto and musical composition) by Dimitris Papadimitriou\, directed by Yannis Kakleas. A thrilling musical adventure takes theatrical form and is transferred to the stage of Pallas Theater with innovations in set design\, holograms\, 3D graphics\, live orchestra and choreography. \nA curse. An omen. A man-eating caterpillar. A demonic\, strange fairy-tale adventure or a philosophical workshop of ideas? Dimitris Papadimitriou\, in collaboration with Yannis Kakleas\, and with a great team of performers\, are staging at the Pallas Theater  the masterpiece of world literature and the fifth most widely read book in the history of Mankind\, Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Friendship\, human destiny and the relationship between man’s limits and God on the stage of the Pallas Theater from 28 February 2020. \n\n\nThe mythical Moby Dick was transformed into a modern musical by the Greek composer\, who did the adaptation\, libretto\, lyrics and of course composed the music.\nIt is a work for the whole family\, as its multi-layered story makes it both a breathtaking children’s adventure and a profound philosophical text. Yannis Kakleas’ direction brings Dimitris Papadimitriou’s musical to life on the city’s largest and most central theatre stage with the fairytale sets by Manolis Pantelidakis and the choreography by Angeliki Trombukis\, the costumes by Ilenia Doujeleris accompanied by the impressive and novel holograms and 3d animation by Panagiotis Rappas that go beyond the hitherto known theatrical stereotypes.  \nThe story of a charming\, “crazy” captain who convinces his entire crew to follow him on his inner mission: to conquer his limits\, Nature\, his Fate\, to reach and surpass God. Moby Dick’s dark fairy-tale metaphysics\, his thrilling naval adventure\, his gritty story\, his theosophical quest are a beam of light in the dark labyrinths that man travels-today more than ever-in his quest for self-knowledge. \n\n\n\nIn this play\, the evil Captain Ahab ends up a controversial Saint\, the neglected and wounded Man seeking to regain the attention and love of his Father and God. By the end of the play\, he has captivated the entire crew and audience along with him. They are asked to choose a “side” between the tragic hero\, the unyielding fighter of Truth Captain Ahab\, the one-man righteous family man Starbuck (first lieutenant)\, the indifferent joker Stump (second lieutenant)\, the one-dimensional\, shallow materialist “third” Flask and finally the sensitive intellectual\, the “historical chronicler” Ishmael. \nLike all masterpieces\, Moby Dick is a perpetual “genetic laboratory” of ideas. Just put the right concepts into the same story and they will in turn reproduce and spawn millions of new ideas and their combinations. This is how the masterpiece is reborn into the ages. \nLibretto & music composition:  Dimitris Papadimitriou\nDirector:  Yannis Kakleas \n\n\n\nMOBY DICK – COORDINATORS \nLyrics – Music: Dimitris Papadimitriou\nDirector: Yannis Kakleas\nProduction Executive: Gg Productions\nSets: Manolis Pantelidakis\n3D Animation: Panagiotis Rappas\nCostumes: Ilenia Doudeleri\nLighting: Stella Kaltsou\nTechnical Director of Holographic Projection: Vassilis Leonidopoulos\nChoreography: Angeliki Trombuki\nSound Recording: Yannis Lampropoulos\nComposer’s Assistant: Tasos Rosopoulos\nAssistant Director: Feli Moschos\nFelios Moschos Production Management: Konstantinos Sayas\nProduction Manager: Spyros Hatzanis \nStars (in alphabetical order) are: \nBabis Velissarios\nThodoris Voutsikakis\nNicolas Karagiouris\nVassilis Kourtis\nIvan Svitailo\nEmilianos Stamatakis \nStill playing (alphabetically): \nSamuel Akinola\nAntonis Vlachos\nDimitris Georgalas\nKonstantinos Efstratiou\nOrpheus Zafeiropoulos\nJerome Kaluta\nThodoris Bouzikakos\nMarios Petkidis\nPhoebus Rimenas\nPolycarp Filippidis\nDimitris Fourlis \nAlso participating is a ten-member orchestra

The turbulent life of a ‘sharp’ mind who ‘read’ his times and managed to become one of the most powerful men of the 20th century. In an eventful professional and personal career on all levels\, he clashed with the greatest economic and political interests of the time\, and at the same time connected with and made his mark on the most iconic and famous women of the era\, such as Tina Livanou\, Jackie Kennedy and Maria Callas. Courage and entrepreneurial instinct\, that was what characterized him and was the diptych of his success. \n\n\n\nThe performance by Stamatis Fassoulis\, consisting of a company of 30 actors\, based on international literature\, journalistic research and personal testimonies\, will be a theatrical performance of Onassis’ life with all the elements of genuine theater. Action\, suspense\, hubris and catharsis. \nIn the role of Aristotle Onassis\, Stamatis Fassoulis. As for the women in his life\, Jackie Kennedy is played by Dimitra Matsouka\, Maria Callas by Katerina Papoutsaki and Tina Livanou by Eugenia Dimitropoulou. In the role of the demonic journalist who investigates and records his life\, Memos Begnis. Onassis at a young age is played by Agesilaos Mikelatos. \n\n\n\nONASSIS: I WANT IT ALL by STATMATIS FASOULIS \nDirected by Stamatis Fassoulis\nSets: George Gavalas\nCostumes: Deni Vakhlioti\nMusic: Costis Maraveyas\nLighting: Lefteris Pavlopoulos\nAssistant Director: Pavlos Sahpekidis\nPhotos: George Kavallierakis \nSTARS: Stamatis Fassoulis\, Dimitra Matsouka\, Katerina Papoutsaki\, Memos Begnis\, Eugenia Dimitropoulou\, Agisilaos Mikelatos \nSTILL PLAYING ALPHABETICALLY \nYannis Athitakis\, Manolis Gerapetritis\, Dimitris Gotsopoulos\, Dimitris Arabesis\, Tatiana Melidou\, Despina Polykandritou\, Eleni Roussinou\, Jenny Skarlatou\, Nikos Stavrakoudis\, Koralia Tsonga\, Kostas Falelakis

SUMMARY:Bernard-Henri Lévy at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:United against populism\, with the people of Athens \nA play written and performed by French writer and philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy for a theatrical tour of 20 European cities from March to May 2019. \nLooking for Europe is the internal monologue of an intellectual holed up in a hotel room in Sarajevo with 90 minutes to compose an important speech about Europe. \nShould he begin with Greek mythology? With German philosophy? Or with how Europe has grappled with totalitarian tyranny and misery over the past century? \nUnfortunately\, all that comes to mind are desolate images of an old continent beset by waves of nationalism\, racism\, xenophobia and anti-Semitism unprecedented since the 1930s. The gilets jaunes (“Yellow Vests”)… The alliance of right and left-wing demagogues in Italy… The emergence of illiberal dictatorships in central Europe… \nHe is about concede failure when\, in a poetic and spectacular turn of events\, the ghosts of Dante\, Goethe\, and Vaclav Havel return to suggest a way out of the maze of populism and to assure him that the worst is not a foregone conclusion… \nAn ode to Europe and an attempt to resurrect the spirit of Spinoza\, of the novelists of the Austro-Hungarian Empire\, of Lech Walesa and Picasso\, Looking for Europe is a traveling performance that calls for democratic resistance and a revival of hope in the weeks preceding the European elections of May 2019. \nUp to the very last minute\, in good Elizabethan style\, the text of Looking for Europe will be rewritten and adapted to respond to the political situation and current events in each of the 20 cities in which it is presented. As an interactive experience\, members of the public will be invited to post questions to lookingforeurope.eu before each performance and then watch Bernard-Henri Lévy integrate and respond to those questions in his on-stage stream of consciousness. \nThe play will be performed in French with electronic subtitling in the language of the host country or English without subtitles. The run-time is 90 minutes. \nPhilosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy is the author of forty books\, including The Empire and the Five Kings\, Barbarism with a Human Face and Who Killed Daniel Pearl? His documentaries include Peshmerga\, The Oath of Tobruk\, and Bosna! \nCommitted from his youth to the struggle against totalitarianism\, and today to the fight against the criminal alliance of Trump and Putin\, Lévy offers this play as a distillation of his personal experience. \nSURTITLES IN PALLAS THEATER \nThe play will be performed in French with Greek surtitles. The run-time is 90 minutes. \nSurtitles are in Greek. Recommended seats are the ones in the last rows of the stalls (below 10th row) and in the dress and upper circle.

SUMMARY:Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo at the Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2018-2019\nStart: 3 November 2018\nEnd: 17 March 2019\nPerformance title: Notre Dame de Paris\n\n\nOne of the masterpieces of world literature\, “Notre Dame de Paris” by Victor Hugo\, is presented this year’s 2018-19 theatre season at the Pallas Theater. \nA super production that continues the great success of last year’s “Don Quixote”\, which was attended by over 100 thousand spectators. The same creative team of “Don Quixote” is collaborating on “Notre Dame” and aspires to offer audiences a show equally popular for the whole family. “Notre Dame de Paris” is being staged by Sophia Spyratou\, who in recent years has given us children’s shows that have won the admiration and trust of both young and old audiences alike\, such as: “Don Quixote”\, “Theseus and Ariadne on Bull Island”\, “Jason and the Golden Fleece”\, etc. The poet Stratis Paschalis is the author of the adapted classical text\, the original music is by Nikos Kipourgis\, the lighting is by Lefteris Pavlopoulos\, the sets and costumes are by Manolis Pantelidakis. \n\n\nThe leading roles are played by Dimitris Pyatas (Quasimodo)\, Nadia Kontogeorgis (Esmeralda)\, Thodoris Katsafados (Bishop Frolo)\, George Simeonidis (Gregoire)\, Dimitris Gotsopoulos (Phoebus)\, Kostas Maglaras (Chief of Gypsies)\, Alexandros Psychhramis (King Louis) and the lyrical singers Marios Petkidis\, Ioannis Kontellis (Two Griffins). Together with them\, a 20-member troupe of actors\, dancers\, acrobats\, musicians and singers perform the roles of the impressive performance.\n\n\n“Notre Dame de Paris” speaks about diversity and social discrimination\, about the much-discussed modern bullying\, which we find the same as today’s bullying during the Middle Ages\, about pure\, selfless love\, which goes as far as absolute giving and love\, about the authoritarianism and arbitrary power that crush or manipulate the common man. A deeply human poem that will take us on a journey through the stories of the good Quasimodo and the beautiful Esmeralda\, full of magic and humour\, truth and fairy tale\, action and song\, tears and joy. \nWith respect to the essence and atmosphere of the classical narrative\, but adapted to today’s linguistic and aesthetic perceptions and conditions\, so that children of all ages can follow it with comfort and interest\, but also draw useful moral lessons\, beneficial for their souls. \nA performance for the whole family based on a gem of European romanticism. \nAt the Pallas Theatre\, young and old alike will be entertained and applaud another theatrical gem! \n\n\nText: Stratis Paschalis\nDirection-choreography: Sofia Spyratou\nMusic: Nikos Kypourgos\nSets and costumes: Manolis Pantelidakis\nLighting design: Lefteris Pavlopoulos  \nProduction direction: Christina Niarou\nProduction execution: Dimitris Synodinos\nSpecial constructions: Alexandros Logos\nPhotos: Studio Vrettos\nContact: Irini Lagorou \n\n\nQuasimodo: Dimitris Piatas\nEsmeralda: Nadia Kontogeorgi\nFrollo: Thodoris Katsafados\nGregoire: George Simeonidis\nPhoebus: Dimitris Gotsopoulos\nLeader Of The Gypsies: Kostas Maglaras\nKing Louis: Alexander Psychramis\nGrypas A’: Marios Petkidis\nGrypas B’: Ioannis Kontellis\n\n\nWith them are (alphabetically): Angelos Antonakos\, Artemis Vavatsika\, Stratos Yaptse\, Iris Katraki\, Andreas Lavner\, Iris Mara\, Kosmas Metaxopoulos\, Natasa Sarantopoulou\, Yiannis Smeros\, Kostas Tsiamagas\, Eleanna Fovou\, Evi Hatzakis .

All of them and the history of the period that marks the decline of democracy in Weimar are the subject of the commentary by Combert\, an exuberant presenter with a sardonic sense of humour. \nTakis Zacharatos plays the role of Combert. \nAs Sally Bowles\, Tamta. \n\n\n\nWith them\, in alphabetical order\, are: Yannis Athitakis\, Zoe Vatista\, Dimitris Galanis\, Maria Gerodimou\, Nikolaos Gioulis\, Christina Ellinodeli\, Marianna Mavrianou\, Elena Mentzelou\, Dimitra Mesimerli\, Eleftheria Paraskeva\, Alexandra Simantiri\, Nikolaos Siozos\, Eva Stamatis\, Christina Tsukari\, Alexandros Filippopoulos\, Eleanna Finokalioti\, Stratos Hadjidakis. \nA 10-member live orchestra under the direction of Alexios Priftis with the following musicians:  Oswald Amiralis\, Kostas Gatsios\, Dimitris Dimopoulos\, Vangelis Kotsabasis\, Moraitis Yannis\, Akis Nikolouzo\, Maria Nitti\, Theodora Papastergiou\, Sofia Siora and Fotini Tsaknaki. \n\n\n\nCredits \nDirected by Sotiris Hatzakis\nChoreography: Dimitris Papazoglou\nTranslation: Antonis Galeos\nLyrics: Aphrodite Manou\nProps: Manolis Pantelidakis\nCostumes: Angelos Mentis\nDirector of Orchestra – Orchestration: Alexios Priftis\nLighting: Lefteris Pavlopoulos\nVideo:Hector Schimatariotis\nPhotos: George Kalfamanolis\nAssistant Director: Dimitra Karakonstanti\nAssistant Choreographer: Maria Gerodimou\nAssistant Director: Elina Drakou\nAssistant Costume Designer: Constantina Mardiki

SUMMARY:Carla Bruni for two concerts at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2017\nStart: 23 October 2017\nEnd: 24 October 2017\n\n\nCarla Bruni\, the most talked about former first lady of France\, starts her world music tour by choosing Greece as her first stop. \nCarla Bruni will visit Athens on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 October\, giving – for the first time – two concerts at Pallas Theater with… “French Touch”. \nThe choice of Athens for the start of her tour is not at all accidental because she is a lover of Greek culture and decided to premiere her musical work with “French Touch” in Greece. Immediately afterwards she will perform in Spain\, Portugal\, Germany\, England\, the Netherlands and the United States up to South America. \n“French Touch” is also the title of her new album\, which will be released in October and contains a collection of covers of well-known songs in English\, produced by the legendary producer\, composer and musician\, David Foster. The first single\, from her “French Touch” CD is “Enjoy the Silence”\, the classic 1990 Depeche Mode song. Carla Bruni\, for her part\, describes these songs “as you would listen to them on a quiet evening\, some sweet moments. This is my dream. That people will listen to my music when they are relaxing and falling in love.” \nAt the concert\, Carla Bruni will perform songs mainly from her new album and older hits. Taofik Farah – guitar\, Cyril Barbessol – keyboards\, Nicolas Didier – percussion\, Johanne Mathaly – cello. \nCarla Bruni has been writing and performing songs since 1997\, with her first album “Quelqu’un m’a dit” (Someone Told Me)\, released in 2002. Since then she has had three more successful releases\, which have sold over 3 million albums\, “No Promises” in 2007 in which she set English poems to music\, “Comme si de rien n’etait” in 2008 and “Little French Songs” in 2013.
