SUMMARY:Legacy of Wayne Shorter
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\n            “Apotheosis of the legendary Shorter by his closest collaborators & special guest …. A Coltrane!!!” \n\nA rare musical encounter\, experience and tribute awaits us at the Pallas Theater on Monday\, March 31.  Continuing the “In touch with the Jazz Masters” concert series\, a tribute to the precious musical legacy of an iconic jazz saxophonist and composer\, the legendary Wayne Shorter!   His closest collaborators – for over 20 years in his quartet – legendary pianist Danilo Perez\, top bassist John Patitucci and the amazing Brian Blade on drums\, who stood side by side with Shorter for over two decades until his death in 2023\, celebrate the colossal legacy this Jazz Master left behind.  They are joined by the incomparable saxophonist Ravi Coltrane\, son of another legend\, John Coltrane! \nIt would be hard to say whether 12 Grammy Award-winning Wayne Shorter was more influential in the course and history of jazz as a composer or as a saxophonist\, as in both\, he has been a beacon of creativity in mainstream\, modal jazz and fusion for over six decades.  He had a way – with his musical genius – of always drawing attention to himself\, whether in the 50’s era when he was part of Art Blakey’s Messengers\, or in his years alongside Miles Davis\, or as co-creator of the legendary fusion group Weather Report\, or of course with his quartet with Perez\, Patitucci & Blade over the last two plus decades. Whatever Shorter was involved with\, he always confirmed what everyone said about him\, namely that he was a musical genius\, one of music’s leading composers and a pioneer of music. \nPanamanian pianist Danilo Perez is one of the most influential and dynamic artists of our time. Activist\, artistic ambassador of his country\, with a huge social work for Latin America and Unesco Goodwill and Peace Ambassador\, this great pianist with many Grammy nominations and awards\, started in Dizzy Gillespie’s band\, worked with Roy Haynes\, Wynton Marsalis\, Cassandra Wilson and others. and went on to become Shorter’s closest collaborator. \nBassist John Patitucci ranks among the top contemporary musicians\, with a vast career that includes 20 Grammy nominations and 3 Grammy awards\, 16 solo albums and collaborations outside of Shorter with Chick Corea\, Pat Metheny\, Herbie Hancock\, Wynton Marsalis\, Stan Getz and others\, and has been a catalyst for hundreds of albums. \nThe third of the bunch\, the amazing drummer Brian Blade\, has for nearly three decades been one of the most sought-after musicians in jazz and beyond. Leader himself for a 25-year stint in one of the greatest jazz groups – the famed Brian Blade Fellowship – the Louisiana-born Brian\, in addition to W. Shorter\, has worked with Joshua Redman\, Chick Corea\, Christian McBride\, Joni Mitchell\, Bob Dylan and dozens of others. \nThis great Wayne Shorter tribute and corresponding tour is joined by another accomplished musician\, saxophonist\, composer and bandleader Ravi Coltrane!  A self-existent and unique musician who has great jazz in his genes\, being the son of the “god” John Coltrane and the iconic Alice Coltrane and has had an extraordinary career himself\, collaborating with artists such as Elvin Jones\, McCoy Tyner\, Kenny Barron\, Joe Lovano\, Terence Blanchard and others\, but also a rich discography. \nThis All Star band\, consisting of true Masters of contemporary jazz and with dozens of Grammy nominations gathered on stage\, will celebrate the work & musical legacy of the great Wayne Shorter on March 31\, 2025 at the Pallas Theater\, and all indications are that it will be the concert jazz event of the year!  We look forward to it ……. \nwww.daniloperez.com \nwww.johnpatitucci.com \nwww.brianblade.com \nwww.ravicoltrane.com \n\nDanilo Perez– Piano \nJohn Patitucci – Bass \nBrian Blade– Drums \nSpecial Guest : Ravi Coltrane– Saxophones \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Johnny Logan - Concert at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nJohnny Logan\, fondly known as “Mr. Eurovision” by fans of the contest and the media\, is coming to Greece for the very first time. \nPallas Theater\, \nMonday\, March 24 & Tuesday\, March 25\, 2025 \n21:00 \nPallas Theater is preparing an all-star lineup of events for the 2024-2025 season\, and one special evening belongs to the one and only Johnny Logan\, making his debut in Greece. \nAs the artist with the most wins in Eurovision history\, Logan is a true legend. He’s a three-time champion: twice as a performer\, with the unforgettable “What’s Another Year” (1980) and the iconic “Hold Me Now” (1987)—a track that not only clinched second place on the UK charts but also became a global bestseller. \nHis third win came as a songwriter\, penning the 1992 Eurovision-winning song “Why Me”. \nFor over four decades since those triumphs\, Logan has continued to record music—releasing 40 singles and 19 albums—and perform successfully across Europe. \nMore recently\, his career has been marked by double platinum CDs in Scandinavia and successful releases in Germany\, Austria\, and Switzerland. \n2024 marks a new chapter for Johnny Logan\, with the release of his latest album\, “It Is What It Is”. This new collection of 12 original tracks feels like a natural successor to “Hold Me Now.” The album was recorded live with real instruments and showcases a diverse range of musical styles\, from rock & roll to jazz\, while blending Irish sounds with Cajun influences. Notably\, the track “Full Moon Over Berlin” stands out with its jazzy undertones. \nSpeaking about the project\, Logan shared:\n“It took me a year to write this album and another year to record it\, but it truly was a labor of love. I’m prouder of this CD than anything I’ve worked on in the last 30 years.” \n“It Is What It Is”—the title says it all. This album represents Johnny Logan today: a voice that brings us timeless memories and vivid imagery. \nJoin us for an evening with this extraordinary artist\, whose melodic voice\, impeccable technique\, and heartfelt music will undoubtedly captivate and delight. \n  \n*The production company reserves the right to increase or decrease ticket prices at its sole discretion. SUMMARY:The Life and Legacy of Stratos Dionysiou
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nA tribute to the legendary voice of Thessaloniki\, Stratos Dionysiou\, will be presented at Pallas Theater in March 2025. \nWhere does one begin to recount the story of Stratos Dionysiou? \n \nThe way he held the microphone was unmistakably his own—a signature gesture that became synonymous with his artistry. His voice\, a pure and soulful expression of Greek folk tradition\, required no theatrics or embellishment. It carried the essence of the great folk songs—those\, as poet Thodoros Gkorpas so eloquently described\, that “resemble birds—black\, proud\, desolate\, beautiful\, and betrayed.” \n \nTimeless masterpieces like “Apokimithika” (I Fell Asleep)\, “Pigéne Me Ópou Théleis Taxitzí” (Take Me Wherever You Want\, Taxi Driver)\, “Ta Píres Óla Kai Éfyges” (You Took Everything and Left)\, “Páre Ó\,ti Théleis Palantzí” (Take Whatever You Want\, Junk Dealer)\, “O Salonikiós” (The Man from Thessaloniki)\, “Kýrios Írtha Kai Kýrios Févgō” (I Came as a Gentleman\, I Leave as a Gentleman)\, “Vrékhi Fotiá sti Stráta Mou” (It’s Raining Fire on My Path)\, and “Ákou Re Fíle” (Listen Here\, My Friend) illuminated Athenian nightlife and remained eternal pillars of Greek music. \nStratos Dionysiou was more than a celebrated artist; he was the Lord of the Night\, a titan of the recording industry\, and a cultural icon. \nHis bond with his audience was profound—a blend of admiration\, respect\, and deep connection. Despite the turbulence of his personal life\, his fans remained steadfast in their loyalty to “The Man from Thessaloniki\,” celebrating his triumphs and preserving his legacy with unwavering devotion. \nDirector Vasilis Mavrogeorgiou will bring this monumental life story to life on stage\, exploring the defining moments of Dionysiou’s extraordinary musical journey and personal struggles. \nThe production will feature electrifying live performances of his greatest hits\, complete with the zeibekiko dances and folk melodies that once filled nightclubs and set hearts ablaze. \nStratos’s sons—Angelos\, Stelios\, and Diamantis—will share the stage in rotation\, performing alongside acclaimed composer Music direction: Nikos Stratigos. Thanasis Polykandriotis\, whose music played a pivotal role in shaping Dionysiou’s repertoire. \nThe text of the performance belongs to Konstantinos Samaras.\nStage designer: Giorgos Gavalas\, Michalis Saplaouras\nCostume designer: Alexia Theodoraki\nLighting designer: Stella Kaltsou\nChoreography/ Movement: Paris Mantopoulos \nThe main role of the incarnation of the late singer is left to the talent of Yannis Tsortekis. \nNext to him – heroes of Stratos’ life\, Maria Kechagioglou\, Yannis Dalianis\, Bessie Malfa\, Michalis Alikakos\, Chrysa Klouva\, Dimitris Machairas \nParticipating actors: Marinos Tarnanas\, Dimitra Stavrou\, Dimitris Galanakis\, Evgenia Karnou\, Roxani Karfi\, Leonidas Bakalis\, Giorgos Dimopoulos\, Stathis Georgantzis\, Aliki Georgiou. \nFrom March 12\, 2025\, Pallas Theater will be transformed into a temple of music and memory\, celebrating the life\, artistry\, and enduring influence of the one and only Stratos Dionysiou—the eternal Lord of the Night. \n  \n*The production company reserves the right to increase or decrease ticket prices at its sole discretion. SUMMARY:CARMINHO
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nNo music has captured the spirit of destiny\, fate\, and the struggles of the poor quite like Fado\, bringing so much joy and a deep sense of empowerment. In Carminho’s family\, the Fado tradition runs deep -she’s the daughter of Fado legend Teresa Siqueira- and few artists have modernized Fado as much as she has. \nHer debut made waves in Portugal and worldwide\, going platinum at home and earning rave reviews internationally. In Brazil\, it opened doors to collaborations with legends like Milton Nascimento\, Chico Buarque\, and Nana Caymmi. This led to a follow-up album that blended Fado with Brazilian gems like bossa nova and MPB\, along with touches of contemporary pop. \nCarminho has recently received a lot of attention for her appearance in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Oscar-winning film Poor Things. In a magical scene\, she captivated Emma Stone’s character and the audience\, bringing a fresh\, modern twist to Fado through her performance. \nMore recently\, she shared the stage with Coldplay and had the honor of performing for Pope Francis during World Youth Day in Lisbon. With these fantastic moments\, Carminho continues taking Fado to the world stage. \nWe’re thrilled to welcome Carminho to Athens for the first time! \nSome of her videos on YouTube:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Ana Carla Maza - Concert at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nANA CARLA MAZA – ON FEBRUARY 10th\, 2025 IN ATHENS \nThe unique Cuban Artist \nSinger\, Composer and Cellist \nfrom the neighbourhoods of Havana to the heart of Athens and the Pallas Theater. \nAna Carla Maza for the first time in Greece\, in a musical feast. \nThe classical cello\, combined with her “heavenly” voice\, create an original and unsurpassed musical universe. \nPrecious materials – artistic gifts – are kept in her luggage: Cuban sound marries harmoniously with jazz\, Brazilian bossa nova with Cuban habanera\, tango with samba and Latin jazz. \nShe could be considered a miracle child\, since at the age of 5 she started learning piano\, under the guidance of her talented Cuban mother (director of the children’s choir\, in which little Ana participated) and guitarist and fatherly musical symbol\, Carlos Maza\, the wonderful Chilean composer and multi-instrumentalist. \nHer piano teacher is Miriam Valdes\, sister of the living legend Chucho Valdés\, the most important presence in Afro-Cuban jazz. \nIt was within this musical culture that she was taught and fell in love with the cello\, at the age of 8. She has been playing\, creating\, playing and delving into the musical influences of Latin jazz ever since. \nAt the age of 13\, she began collaborating professionally with her father\, participating in two recordings released by him in 2010\, “Carlos Maza en Familia” and “Quererte”. \nShe participated in her first music competitions\, playing Pior Ilits Tsaikofski and Camille Saint-Saëns\, as a soloist in a symphony orchestra and began singing with the accompaniment of the cello. \nIn 2012 she moved to Paris to study at the Conservatoire de musique française. She continued her musical studies at the Pôle supérieur d’enseignement artistique Paris Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB)\, at the Université de Sorbonne and then embarked on a solo career\, performing throughout Europe with notable success. \nDuring this period she met the great cellist Vincent Ségal\, who\, recognising her talent\, encouraged her to continue. \nFrom then until today\, Ana Carla Maza has not stopped shaping her musical identity\, a whirlwind of passionate vocals and impressive rhythms\, presenting a rare and entirely her own musical world\, opening her artistic wings even further. \nOver 200 concerts around the world. \nAll her recordings have a characteristic acoustic and musical way\, without touching anything electric.   Her seductive voice pulses and dances along joyful paths\, from Caribbean rumbles to Argentinean tango and flirts alongside Brazilian bossa-jazz and samba. \nHer recent songs included on the album “Caribé” were literally written and recorded “on the road”\, on a plane trip to Mexico. \nShe grouped and “married” a panoply of talented musicians\, from different parts of Europe and Latin America\, creating a great band\, a powerful brass sextet\, that recolors her musical memories with her wonderful voice. \nOn February 10\, 2025 and for the first time\, she will be introduced to the Greek audience. \nShe\, through her musical and singing galaxy\, urges us on the essence of life: \n“don’t be afraid\, it’s your life\, you have nothing to lose”. \nAn opportunity to live (in) her musical feast ! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:UTE LEMPER
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nUte Lemper \nRendezvous with Marlene \nThis show is based on a 3 hour phone call and exchange between Marlene and Ute in 1988 in Paris\, 30 years ago. After receiving the French Moliére Award for her performance in Cabaret in Paris\, Ute had sent a postcard to Marlene\, who had lived at 12 Avenue de Montaigne since 1979\, essentially apologizing for all the media attention comparing her to Marlene Dietrich. Ute was just at the beginning of her career in theatre and music\, whereas Marlene looked back on a long\, fulfilled life of movies\, music\, incredible collaborations\, love stories and stardom. \nWhat a secret gift to hear Marlene talk about her life\, her work and style\, her love for the poet Rilke\, her complicated relationship with Germany\, her sorrow and her fascinations. \nSix days before Ute’s opening night playing the part of Lola in the 1992 Blue Angel production in Berlin – the role that had made Marlene a star in 1928 – Marlene Dietrich passed away in Paris. After her glamorous funeral in La Madeleine\, Marlene finally came back to Berlin to be put to rest. \nUte tells us Marlene’s story\, along with singing her fabulous songs from all the chapters of her life\, from the Berlin cabaret years to her fabulous Burt Bacharach collaborations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:“Lina Nikolakopoulou – Natan I Chara Oikopedo”
DESCRIPTION:“Lina Nikolakopoulou – Natan I Chara Oikopedo” \nMonday\, 13 January 2025 \n\n\nWho could have imagined\, after that unforgettable evening at the Asty Cinema in the heart of Athens\, on Korai Street\, where I sat enthralled watching Time of the Gypsies\, that it would mark the beginning of such an extraordinary journey? It was a journey that\, thankfully\, has brought me immense joy over the years as songs came to life\, inspired by those fiery\, soul-stirring Balkan melodies. \n\n\nMore than 35 years have passed since that night.\nAnd yet\, it all feels as vivid as if it were yesterday. \n\n\nWeddings\, christenings\, celebrations\, love stories — all found their sound\, voice\, and lyrics. \n\n\nBregovic’s Paradechtika paved the way for Kiki Lesendric’s The Road with the Brass\, and even now\, I am deeply moved\, continuing to write lyrics that embrace the rhythms and melodies of the Balkans. These sounds live on\, most recently in My First Rose. \n\n\nI warmly invite you to join me in celebrating this remarkable journey as we welcome the new year. Let us gather at Pallas Theatre on January 13\, 2025\, and\, once again\, “like mischievous kids\, let us meet there!” \n\n\nWith heartfelt joy\,\nLina Nikolakopoulou \nContributors: \n\n\nThe outstanding 10-member orchestra Salonique Brass Band will bring the vibrant Balkan music and distinct melodies of Lina’s songs to life\, accompanied by: \nGlykeria and Pitsa Papadopoulou\, two legendary voices who have always celebrated our folk traditions and cultural roots. \nAlongside them\, four exceptional artists from the younger generation\, personally chosen by Lina Nikolakopoulou for this event: Sofia Papazoglou\, Thodoris Voutsikakis\, Aspasia Stratigou\, and Apostolos Kitsos. \n\n\nBeloved singer Manolis Mitsias and Serbian composer and performer Kiki Lesendric will join us for a never-ending “party\,” imbued with the boundless\, Dionysian energy of Balkan rhythms. \nSpecial Guests: Marina Satti  \nProduction: “Cricos” & “Apoichos Techni & Politismos” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Evanthia Rebutsika - Tiger Lillies
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAn explosive meeting \nIn the meeting of Evanthia Reboutsika with the much loved by the Greek audience Tiger Lillies there is something of the magic of the most festive season of the year. \nOn December 3\, 4 and 30 the Pallas stage is transformed into a magical carpet that transports artists and audience alike\, high above the clouds where cabaret melodies meet Evanthia’s cinematic soundtracks and the Tiger Lillies’ accordion flirts with the Greek composer’s unique violin. \nEvanthia Reboutsika orchestrates this stage coexistence and entrusts her songs to British musicians with devilish gusto. The Tiger Lillies\,who will also perform their own hits\, take Evanthia’s favourite melodies\, weave them with their characteristic operatic punk needle and together they invite the audience to an explosion of joy\, a celebration of music that will leave its bright mark on this winter’s concert nights. \nWhat happens when the avant garde cabaret of the Tiger Lillies meets the colourful world of Evanthia Reboutsika? \nSee you at Pallas on 3\, 4 & 30 December for a performance that will be unforgettable \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS
