SUMMARY:“Lina Nikolakopoulou – Natan I Chara Oikopedo”
DESCRIPTION:“Lina Nikolakopoulou – Natan I Chara Oikopedo” \nMonday\, 13 January 2025 \n\n\nWho could have imagined\, after that unforgettable evening at the Asty Cinema in the heart of Athens\, on Korai Street\, where I sat enthralled watching Time of the Gypsies\, that it would mark the beginning of such an extraordinary journey? It was a journey that\, thankfully\, has brought me immense joy over the years as songs came to life\, inspired by those fiery\, soul-stirring Balkan melodies. \n\n\nMore than 35 years have passed since that night.\nAnd yet\, it all feels as vivid as if it were yesterday. \n\n\nWeddings\, christenings\, celebrations\, love stories — all found their sound\, voice\, and lyrics. \n\n\nBregovic’s Paradechtika paved the way for Kiki Lesendric’s The Road with the Brass\, and even now\, I am deeply moved\, continuing to write lyrics that embrace the rhythms and melodies of the Balkans. These sounds live on\, most recently in My First Rose. \n\n\nI warmly invite you to join me in celebrating this remarkable journey as we welcome the new year. Let us gather at Pallas Theatre on January 13\, 2025\, and\, once again\, “like mischievous kids\, let us meet there!” \n\n\nWith heartfelt joy\,\nLina Nikolakopoulou \nContributors: \n\n\nThe outstanding 10-member orchestra Salonique Brass Band will bring the vibrant Balkan music and distinct melodies of Lina’s songs to life\, accompanied by: \nGlykeria and Pitsa Papadopoulou\, two legendary voices who have always celebrated our folk traditions and cultural roots. \nAlongside them\, four exceptional artists from the younger generation\, personally chosen by Lina Nikolakopoulou for this event: Sofia Papazoglou\, Thodoris Voutsikakis\, Aspasia Stratigou\, and Apostolos Kitsos. \n\n\nBeloved singer Manolis Mitsias and Serbian composer and performer Kiki Lesendric will join us for a never-ending “party\,” imbued with the boundless\, Dionysian energy of Balkan rhythms. \nSpecial Guests: Marina Satti  \nProduction: “Cricos” & “Apoichos Techni & Politismos” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:Evanthia Rebutsika - Tiger Lillies
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAn explosive meeting \nIn the meeting of Evanthia Reboutsika with the much loved by the Greek audience Tiger Lillies there is something of the magic of the most festive season of the year. \nOn December 3\, 4 and 30 the Pallas stage is transformed into a magical carpet that transports artists and audience alike\, high above the clouds where cabaret melodies meet Evanthia’s cinematic soundtracks and the Tiger Lillies’ accordion flirts with the Greek composer’s unique violin. \nEvanthia Reboutsika orchestrates this stage coexistence and entrusts her songs to British musicians with devilish gusto. The Tiger Lillies\,who will also perform their own hits\, take Evanthia’s favourite melodies\, weave them with their characteristic operatic punk needle and together they invite the audience to an explosion of joy\, a celebration of music that will leave its bright mark on this winter’s concert nights. \nWhat happens when the avant garde cabaret of the Tiger Lillies meets the colourful world of Evanthia Reboutsika? \nSee you at Pallas on 3\, 4 & 30 December for a performance that will be unforgettable \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS

SUMMARY:Eleonora Zouganeli - On other pathways
DESCRIPTION:Privileges at Club Pallas\n \n\n\n\n\n\nEleonora Zouganeli \n“On other paths” \nMonday 4 November \nIt all started from a thought of Lida Roumanis to travel through time with the help of songs and to choose small gems of Greek music that have lived through the decades. \nThe first stop was the theatre of Mikri Epidaurus as part of the Athens Festival at the end of July\, which was packed to capacity both nights with smiling faces who sang along with us\, were moved by our songs and I felt that we walked together along the paths of our chosen songs\, listening to their generous applause at the end. \nWe then shared this mystique with the audience at Aeschylia festival and the highly charged venue of Elefsina. \nI will continue to present my musical paths that make stops in many decades of Greek singing and will soon take to the stage of Pallas Theater on November 4th. \nFavorite songs that have carried away whole generations through my approach. \nMemories\, experiences\, childhood excursions\, songs I used to listen to alone or in the company of my friends. Melodies that wrote history and lyrics that wrote within us\, edited and musically produced by the extraordinary Thomas Constantinou. With me on stage\, wonderful solo musicians who give their color to my musical wanderings that start from the “Path” of Giorgos Mouzakis and lead us to the present day. \nNikos Mermigas: bouzouki\, lute\, mandolin \nStelios Fragous: piano \nDinos Hadjiordanou: accordion \nNikos Gyras: double bass \nDimitris Tsakas: saxophone & classical guitar \nThomas Konstantinou: arrangements\, oud\, lute\, lute\, ukulele\, ukulele\, tsoubus \nArtistic director: Lida Roumani – Eleonora Zouganeli \nMusic Editing – Production: Thomas Konstantinou \nLighting: Maria Venetaki \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets

SUMMARY:30th Athens International Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:30th Athens International Film Festival | October 2-14\, 2024 \nThe Athens International Film Festival\, sponsored by Nova\, celebrates 30 years of cinematic magic\, glamour\, discoveries and uninterrupted love for cinema and its people. \nFrom the filmmakers\, actors\, producers and the entirety of professionals of the field\, to everyone in the festival who contributed passionately throughout the years and our devoted and emotionally rejuvenating audience\, our Festival keeps growing and spreading the uniqueness of the big screen in Greece and abroad. Our common goal remains during all those years: the unwavering passion for great cinema. \nA few 30 year old statistics\, for the longing. The Athens International Film Festival counts over the years\, more than: \n3.000 films \n25 venues (3 no longer operating ATTIKON\, APOLLO\, IDEAL) \n100 tributes \n700 international guests \n200 parties \n70 side events \nover 1.000.000 spectators \nAnd yet\, what cannot be measured in numbers and statistics are those days of endless laughter and tears\, the countless encounters with cinephile discussions\, the friendships\, the romances and the unforgettable experiences the Festival brought to us in and out of cinema halls. The Festival grew with us and now reaches the landmark of 30 luminous years. We wish\, therefore\, for this year and for the next 30 years\, that the projectors of our cinemas will emit that beam of light that forever binds our city’s autumns. \nVenues to host this year’s edition are: DANAOS I & II\, OPERA I & II\, ASTOR\, ASTY\, MEGARON THE ATHENS CONCERT HALL and PALLAS. \n  \nThe Closing Ceremony of the 30th Athens International Film Festival Premiere Nights will take place at Pallas Theatre on Monday 14 October with the screening of the film \n  \n \n  \nTHE ROOM NEXT DOOR \nSPAIN\, 2024\, COLOR\, DCP\, 106’\, ENGLISH \nDIRECTOR \nPedro Almodóvar \nSCREENWRITER \nPedro Almodóvar \nDoP \nEdu Grau \nMUSIC \nAlberto Iglesias \nEDITOR \nTeresa Font \nPRINCIPAL CAST \nTilda Swinton\, Julianne Moore\, John Turturro\, Alessandro Nivola \n\nPEDRO ALMODÓVAR \nMajor filmmaker of worldwide acclaim\, born in Spain in 1949. Member of the culturally rejuvenating Madrilenian Movement\, he started from the experimental theater. In 1974 he bought a Super-8 camera and soon delivered his first short. Two-time Oscar winner\, holder of Directing and Screenwriting awards in Cannes & Venice film festivals\, amidst a series of prizes in almost every major institution. \n\nFILMOGRAPHY (SELECTED) \n2024 The Room Next Door 2019 Pain & Glory 2011 The Skin I Live In 2009 Broken Embraces 2006 Volver 2004 Bad Education 2002 Talk to Her 1999 All About My Mother 1991 High Heels 1989 Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! 1988 Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown 1987 Law of Desire \n\nTwo friends reunite after years. One is a successful author\, the other an ex-war correspondent now fighting her biggest battle as she suffers from a terminal illness. Under the shadow of an inevitable end\, the two make a secret pact that\, though grim\, proves to be cathartic. In his first English-language feature film\, Almodovar continues to praise women as a mysterious\, unstoppable force\, full of courage and empathy in the face of adversity. Expertly performed ode to friendship\, powerful argument for the individual’s right to determine its own destiny\, and a statement of faith in companionship as pure hope in a world increasingly devoid of it. Golden Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival. \n

SUMMARY:Blind forgiveness Rock Ballet at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:World Premiere of the Ballet “Blind Forgiveness” \nParticipate:  Christopher Lambert \n“The Divine Power of Love… or All We Need is Love…” \nContemporary world choreography is constantly evolving—since the moment ballet gained global recognition\, it has come a long way. Over the years\, ballet has given rise to new forms and trends\, such as modern\, contemporary\, and neoclassicism\, allowing ballet to remain one of the most sought-after art forms. \nThe rock ballet Blind Forgiveness is a ballet where neoclassical dance intertwines with the presentation of ideas in a modern style\, featuring the revelation of the plot in the form of a theatrical monologue. One could say that this is a new chapter in the multi-volume edition of ballet. The original libretto\, consisting of 12 scenes\, describes a story of events taking place in modern society\, where priorities are often far from noble intentions. Kirill Radev masterfully conveyed the plastic images endowed with distinctive features and expressed a variety of human emotions\, states\, and relationships through an original choreographic language. The musical score\, composed by Arseniy Smirnov\, revealed the depth of the performance\, its “soul.” \n“Be careful when opening doors—who knows what might be there…” \nAmid the urban hustle and bustle\, a daring yet irresistible Young Man appears. He accidentally encounters a strange Girl moving with restraint and unhurriedly. The young man starts teasing the oddball\, unaware that she is blind. Suddenly\, Natalia’s purse falls\, and he decides to help her. As she feels his hand in hers\, she transports him to another world—a world of sin and temptation. \n“There is no unforgivable sin\, except the sin of unrepentance.” \nThe intensity and depth of change reflect on the emotional sphere and the complex\, contradictory inner world of the Protagonist\, who struggles to understand himself\, getting lost in the intricate labyrinth of his own actions and thoughts. \nFinding himself in a world that entices him with easy relationships\, wealth\, and empty\, feigned fame\, the Hero is ready to stay in this circle of sin and temptations. And only the blind woman\, each time giving him a piece of her soul\, pulls him out of the world of vice. It is She who gives him the opportunity to feel the bright side of his soul\, to realize that he can love and be loved. It is her love that saves him. \nThe main message of the performance is that every person always has a chance to break free from the dark world of cruelty and evil and once again see the bright light of goodness and love. “She and her love saved him\, and it is not she who is blind\, but him”—these words encapsulate the essence of this ballet. \nMOSAIC del ARTE—by creating new projects in various fields of culture\, gives both youth and older generations the opportunity to discover new\, and sometimes rediscover already presented facets of art\, for it is art that lives forever. \nThe Astana Ballet Theatre and Symphony Orchestra. \nFeaturing: Christopher Lambert \nComposer – Smirnov Arsenii \nSoloists: Nathalia Fernandez Menes – Julian Mackay \nChoreographer: Kirill Radev\nArtistic Director: Alexander Mogilev\nCostume Designer: Igor Chapurin\nSet Designer: Anastasia Kapustina \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Whatever is reported by the press…\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorld premiere of the ballet «Blind Forgiveness»\n \nThe modern world of art meets a new challenge – the virtuoso combination of grace and power in a unique ballet rock production called “Blind Forgiveness”. \nΠηγή: Cosmopoliti.com

SUMMARY:Medea by Euripides - Simon Stone at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:It is quite likely that no other Ancient Drama heroine has been as staggering as Medea. What if Medea were alive today? Inspired by the story of a Kansas doctor who killed her husband and two of their three children in the mid-1990s\, distinguished Australian filmmaker Simon Stone offers a contemporary reading of the drama\, featuring the acting ensemble of the Internationaal Theater Amsterdam\, one of the strongest theatre companies in Europe. The core of the myth remains unchanged and is ‘kneaded’ against the backdrop of today’s middle-class America. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n	\n \n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n\n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n\n \n	\n\n	\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	What does the press say…\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSimon Stone’s Medea at the Pallas Theatre in Athens \nAustralian actor\, director\, and writer Simon Stone\, known for his contemporary and accessible adaptations of classic myths and literature\, brings his rendition of Medea to the Pallas Theatre in Athens until July 11. \nSource: Neoskosmos.com

SUMMARY:A night at the opera at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:A night at the opera…\nAn evening among the mysterious women of Marina Leon. The painter presents 23 works of different dimensions with a focus on women. Colours\, emotions and music mix in the palette of life and give us colourful stories..The playwright and prose writer George Maniotis says among other things about Marina Leon’s painting:\n“The bliss of flowers traps women. At first\, such a life seems like a dream. A dream full of comfort and luxury that intoxicates you with its fragrances and seals the mind and soul with its brilliant colours. But as time goes by\, the bouquets that embellished a drugged imagination settle on the heads and slowly begin to fade away the features of faces and all senses.\nThey seal the eyes with rose petals\, close the noses with hard foliage\, the ears with lilies and ivy\, leaving the lips free only to kiss the companions and benefactors…”\n\nMarina Leon was born and raised in New York City.\nAfter finishing her studies in fashion design at the prestigious F.I.T New York\, she returned to Greece where she excelled as head designer for some of the most famous Greek fashion companies. For a long period of time she dedicated herself to motherhood and began exploring the world of painting\, studying alongside leading and internationally acclaimed artists.\nHer works belong to private collections in Greece and abroad. She has exhibited in important galleries and art galleries.  \nSome of her creations form the central core of the showcase of the internationally acclaimed Brand Carpo in Dubai. \nCurator: Yiannis Gounas\nExhibition duration: 5/4/2024 to 14/4/2024\nOpening hours: 17.00p.m – 20.00p.m\nOfficial opening: Wednesday 10 April 2024\nArrival time: 20.00 p.m\nHotel Area: Pallas Theater/Foyer

SUMMARY:150 years Grande Bretagne at Pallas Theater
DESCRIPTION:Season: 2024 \nStart: 9 April 2024 \nEnd: 9 April 2024 \nThe official premiere of the documentary\, which took place as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the iconic hotel\, took place on the significant date of 9 April\, in a packed Pallas Theatre. \n\nThe choice of the film’s screening date was not a coincidence\, as it coincided with the 150th anniversary of 9 April 1874\, when businessmen Savvas Kentros and Efstathios Lampsas signed the official contract to jointly operate the Hotel Grande Bretagne. \nBringing the story to life with the voice of Pavlos Tsima\, who was in charge of the editorial and narration\, and with music composed by Minos Matsas\, the film highlights the timeless relationship between Great Britain and the development of Athens.
