The emblematic play by Jean Girontoux, one of the greatest French dramatists of the interwar period, at the Pallas Theater, directed by Peter Zoulias.<\/p>\n

The leading role of Chayot’s “Madwoman” –\u00a0 is played by Elisabeth Konstantinidou, and she embodies the struggle of an eccentric Parisian woman against every form of power that affects our lives. She is joined by Nikos Moutsinas as the junkman, a demonic street theatre performer, and Athina Oikonomakou, as the sweet and sensitive Irma, a Parisian prostitute with a pure soul, like a little child. The show stars Yannis Siamsiaris, Kostas Kazakas, Christina Tsafou, Stella Gika, Stathis Mantzoros, Georgia Kallergi, Prodromos Tosunidis, Efthimis Georgopoulos, Makis Patelis and six other actors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Aurelie, the genius “madwoman” from the Chayot region in the French Trocadero, is an unpretentious, idealistic woman who sees the world as beautiful and happy. When she learns of the plan of a group of corrupt corporate executives and cynical businessmen who plan to dig up Paris to find the oil they believe lies beneath its streets, she mobilizes all her friends, who, like her, resist the power of money, and sets a trap for her enemies, into which she leads them and destroys them as they are blinded by their greed.<\/p>\n

“What would you rather have in your court:
\nan almond tree or an oil well?”<\/p>\n

Next to Peter Zoulias, a great group of performers puts their artistic stamp on it. Evanthia Reboutsika signs the original musical composition and the songs. The spectacular sets were designed by Maria Philippou, the impressive costumes by Denis Vachlioti, the atmospheric lighting by Melina Masha and the kinesthetic guidance by Kiki Baka.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The inspiring – and more relevant than ever – text of “La Folle de Chaillot” denounces adventurism and paves the way for humanity to prevail over opportunistic profit, highlighting the eternal struggle between the dreamers of life and power… the eternal battle between good and evil.<\/div>\n
