January 30 @ 9:00 pm - March 14 @ 11:30 pm
Season: 2024
Start: 30 January 2024
End: 14 March 2024
Number of performances 2Maria Farantouri and Giota Negka choose to perform together a selection of the most beautiful songs of the Greek cinema. On 30 January, they invite us for the first time to the stage of Theater Pallas to a programme of songs written by leading lyricists and composers to accompany unforgettable cinematic moments, songs that have acquired their own autonomous path outside the cinemas. In the performance prepared with love and care by the two performers, choosing from a great legacy, we will hear songs by Mikis Theodorakis, Mimis Plessas, Stavros Xarchakos, Eleni Karaindrou, Stamatis Kraounakis, Evanthia Reboutsika and others, songs that touched us emotionally and touch us timelessly for their melodic richness and lyrical imagination. 8 excellent soloists will contribute to the final result, accompanying the performers.

The course of the song through the years is perhaps one of the constant values of our country. And there are those songs that have made history and always remain “sweet to listen to” because they have been associated with images, with the immense magical power of the big screen. The performance of Maria Farantouri and Giota Negka is a wink to all cinephiles, to the patrons of summer cinemas, to the lovers of the black and white stories of the good old Greek cinema, to the lovers of modern cinema and contemporary creators and certainly, to the numerous friends of good Greek singing.
