With a full live orchestra, dazzling choreography, and impressive sets and costumes, this spectacular production on the stage of the Pallas Theater invites us to follow the journey of a little girl living in hard times, facing the harsh side of life, yet still insisting on dreaming, hoping, singing, and believing in a better “tomorrow” for everyone.

A glimpse into the story:

New York, 1933. In the years following the Great Depression, a little girl named Annie (Myrto Farazi) lives in an orphanage for girls, dreaming of the parents who abandoned her there as a baby, leaving only a letter promising they would, one day, return to take her back home.
The orphanage is run by Miss Hannigan (Maria Katsandri), who despises children and makes life extremely difficult for the girls.

One day, after a failed escape attempt, Annie’s life changes in an instant. Grace Farrell (Danai Pappa), secretary to billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Yannis Stankoglou), visits the orphanage and chooses Annie to spend Christmas at the Warbucks mansion in order to improve Mr Warbucks’ public image.

At first, the indifferent and stern Oliver Warbucks ignores Annie, absorbed in his work and business affairs. But Annie quickly wins him over and steals his heart. The hard businessman becomes like a child again in her presence, rediscovers the values and joys of life, and asks to adopt her. Still, Annie has never stopped dreaming of finding her real parents.

When Mr. Warbucks, hurt but determined to help her, offers a huge cash reward to anyone who can prove they are her parents, a new adventure begins for Annie. Miss Hannigan reappears, and with the help of her sly brother Rooster (Argyris Angelou) and his girlfriend Lily (Katerina Sousoula), sets out once again to make Annie’s life very difficult—and dangerous.

The rest of the story… will be revealed this November on the stage of Pallas Theater!

A few words about the musical:

The musical “Annie”, based on Harold Gray’s popular comic strip “Little Orphan Annie”, premiered on Broadway in 1977 and became a worldwide phenomenon. Among many awards, it won seven Tony Awards (including Best Musical) and six Drama Desk Awards.
It is no coincidence that two of the songs from Annie — “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” — are considered among the most famous musical theatre songs of all time.

The show has been translated into dozens of languages and continues to be performed around the world, achieving great commercial and artistic success everywhere. The musical “Annie” has also been adapted into film eight (!) times, the most iconic being the Hollywood production of 1982.

This November, the most beloved musical of all time comes to Pallas Theater to remind us all that even in darkness, there is always a small crack where the light shines through. And in that light, all dreams and hopes can fit…!
